Cleveland based Singer Songwriter and Pop Vocalist Cat Calabrese‘s new single “Hyde,” featuring L8niteSasuke, is a killer. From beginning to end, the tone is highly vibrant. The synth textural riff keeps us interested and engaged in terms of the synth lead’s tonality. The verses are sharp and clear, maintaining a consistent amount of enthusiasm throughout. The songwriting is inspiring and focuses on some major events in a relationship that has become more potentially toxic over time. The writing piqued my interest since it addressed the issue with such clarity and layers. The intensity and aggression with which the vocals are delivered punches you right in the gut. As the song proceeds, the adrenaline fades completely.
In terms of the arrangements, the rhythm is really captivating and will have you tapping your feet to the beats. The tune is able to maintain its vitality thanks to the tonality of the bass line, as well as the glides and movement. The low end is clear and tight, which adds to the overall mood.
