Aza Brown – The Way That I Roll | Beatlesque

English singer-songwriter Aaron Brown — known to the world as Aza Brown — is on his way to bringing back the lost sounds of the conventional classic rock apparatus, as he updates his discography with yet another track.

Adding on to the five previously added to his 2021 repertoire, the singer-songwriter releases his sixth consecutive track The Way That I Roll. The Beatlesque meets The Verve classic rock-Britpop soundstage is no surprise for the fandom that realizes Brown’s musical gurus, and the admiration trickles down into the arrangement of the track. Laden with multi-channelled vocals and mild synth waves, The Way That I Roll represents the revival of the famed ‘guitar music’ heyday. Thematically, the track borders on a happy-go-lucky groove highlighting a carefree lifestyle, making it an essential summertime number.

At a more characteristic level, the track bears minute resemblances to the grandiose of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band — reflected both in its performance-oriented songwriting and the apparent similarities in the album’s cover art.

With gentle transitions to soft rock elements with late 60s-nostalgic synths, the jangling electronic pop bears down on the listeners. The Way That I Roll has a clean production, reflected best with the keyboard contributing some timbral breadths without straying too far from where they started. Brown’s vocal range is broad, with mid-baritone voices giving way to guitar tones.
