The Tell Alls - Pace the Pesos

The Tell Alls – Pace the Pesos | Powerpop

Nashville based band The Tell Alls original full-length debut, Feeding Frenzy was released in 2006. Followed up with 2 EPs respectively over the course of 3 years. 10+ years later, the band came out of nowhere with the politically-charged, single Won’t Come Down, and it looks like they’re here to stay. With their newest single Pace the Pesos, The Tell Alls are back with their politically charged, power pop melodies that will not only get your foot-tapping but will also revolutionize you in the process. Ken Buono (from Flight of Mavis, Buzz Zeemer, Trolleyvox & Grand) takes songwriting/multi-instrumentalist duties under this “band” moniker.

Pace the Pesos is a power packed, indie folk/pop foot-tapper which is also a capitalist critique. This song is melodic and guitar driven with a steady bass line. The best part about The Tell Alls is the attention to detail that they give to their instrumental guitar solos. Pace the Pesos has lyrics that break into elaborate guitar solos that add the little rock element to the power pop song.

The lyrics of the song have a Bob Dylan-Creedence Clearwater Revival-esque vibe to them that finds itself starkly juxtaposed against the folk rock vibe of the guitar. This starkness emphasizes the lyrics even more. The hook really makes the song memorable. The Tell Alls and Pace the Pesos are an underrated groove that you should not miss out on. The powerpop folk vibe is a gift that keeps on giving.
