An Hour a Minute – Honeydew (Honey Don’t) | Eclectic & Bold

Honeydew (Honey Don’t) is what’s new by An Hour a Minute – a Toronto-based duo that delves into synth-pop. The track combines pop, some funk-rock, as well as psychedelic sound elements to create a bright and eclectic aura. It is packed with engaging guitar riffs, and synth-psychedelic tunes that keep a listener hooked. The melodic composition features an ethereal bridge, especially so with the two member’s dreamy vocals on the slightly acoustic moment.

An Hour a Minute came together in a garage, with two high school friends jamming. Darko and George decided to make this more official in 2020 with a collection of their songs – old and new. Their style is reflective of the times they’ve spent together and grown up in, The synth and 80’s nostalgia elements are ever present in their songs, while their signature style is definitely a very unique one within the genre.

The song Honeydew (Honey Don’t) is a cheerful and bubbly composition, and the lyrics are playful as well. The sound artistry on the song reminds me of Coldplay but with a strong synth front. The vocalizations, funky disco beats are all part of this experience – and the bantery exchange the singer has with his honey keeps you tapping a foot to the beats.
