Love Ghost – Peace=Madness | Alternative Progression

Los Angeles-based, five-piece band, Love Ghost has burst onto the scene with a piece of art that transcends any one genre. Having been inspired by artists like The Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, Juice WRLD, Lil Peep and Nirvana, Love Ghost has created a niche that appeals to many listeners. The band describes their style as a space between ethereal grunge and lo-fi bedroom hip-hop punctuated by emotional delivery and airy hooks.

Peace=Madness (Peace is Madness) is a track that perfectly encapsulates this. From the Hip Hop inspired beats (Samson Young), to the plain chordal progressions, and atmosphere created, the track really speaks out to the listener. The vocals (Finnegan Bell) are so clear it takes me back to when I was in high school listening to some old grunge tracks. The bassline (Ryan Stevens) really carries the rhythm section with depth. The guitar (Bell and Daniel Alcala) gives me goosebumps. The track creates an atmosphere that really catches your attention.

The track talks about how things that are generally considered to oppose each other are not all that different. Peace is madness / Joy is sadness. These lines remind me so much of Lil Peep. Additionally, the band really brings a new meaning to the Alternative genre.

I would recommend this track to anyone who loves the alternative genre in general.
