American pop singer-songwriter Riley Wells is back with her second single of the year – “Endless.” Wells describes herself as a “lavender pop singer-songwriter girl” and “Endless” is the very embodiment of it.
A fun, happy and quirky pop song, Endless eases you in with whimsical sounds and a typical pop beat. The vocals are soft and have a strong dream-pop vibe. The chorus of the song has a very early 00’s pop vibe. The catchy vibe gets you grooving almost immediately. Soon enough, you won’t be able to get the song out of your head.
The song is quite different from the previous single, and it pushes her whimsy to another level. Endless adds a new perspective to Wells’ discography. I would even go as far as to say that Endless is the quintessential pop song for millennials and Gen Z. While I could say it derives from early 00’s pop, the dreamy lyrics and the vocals along with the synth-like backing music really fits the genre of Pop today. The song really brings out Riley Wells’ femme-lavender pop energy and engulfs you in its soothing but fun atmosphere.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find Endless on a dopamine-pop playlist alongside the likes of Alessia Cara and Katy Perry. On a completely different note, I could also see the song being featured in Reels and TikTok. With Riley Wells and pop, it seems to me that the possibilities are “Endless.”
