American-based artist, Teena is no stranger to the music scene. After having released her first track, Cranberry, in January 2019, she was able to head to Los Angeles to play the infamous Viper Room. Although she’s young, Teena has seen a lot of stage time, having played at The Well, The VNYL, Muchmore’s, and The Knitting Factory. She also opened for Aaron Carter in December of 2019 at the Revolution Music Festival. She’s stated to have vocal influences ranging from Donna Summer all the way to Hayley Williams from Paramore.
In her latest single, flowergirl, Teena is able to show off her beautiful voice accompanied by some really hard-hitting beats. This track definitely incorporates the influences that Teena states she has. The 80s-themed synths showcase the dreaminess of disco and are then met with a groovy bassline with the beats that will have you nodding along. I’m in such awe of Teena’s voice. It is so powerful and yet so calm that it controls everything around it, at least that’s how it seems in flowergirl. I highly rate this track by Teena, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys good music.
