The Amber Bugs are a brilliant band based out in the UK. They’ve cited some influences like We Are Science, Paul Simon, Radiohead, Sublime, and Van Morrison. This band is so much more than they appear to be. While technically being classified as indie, there’s so much more to it or as the band would say – that’s like saying a curry is basically a chicken dish. The band uses many influencing genres such as jazz, ska, and a tangy surprise you can’t quite place to confuse your earbuds.Could We Be Friends is a perfect example of this fusion. The song takes so many turns using so many varied instruments, it’s almost orchestral. The vocal pairing and harmonies work so well The song itself takes a journey through multiple genres and each instrument and voice getting some moment in the limelight. The Amber Bugs truly do like to mashup different genres. This band is no stranger to the music scene, though. With 8 albums since 2016, the band has released music from their little bit punk, little bit not phase to their multigenre approach that works so perfectly. You’ve got to applaud the work, it’s just so admirable.
