Ragsy’s third single is all about comfort, warmth, and the care of a loved one. The folksy Americana track is reminiscent of the early rock from the 00s post-grunge movement. It’s a an incredibly fuzzy tune, one that just oozes positivity with each note. Something as simple as the touch of a loved one wrapping you in their arms to keep you safe forms the entirety of the tune. An uncomplicated track for sure, but one that’s all you need on a low day.
“I’ve got you if you fall, if you let go there’s no need to be afraid anymore”
“I’ve got you in these arms, if you let go I’ll keep you safe from harm”
I think what makes this song especially pleasurable is that it’s not necessarily particularly romantic. There’s something so keenly comforting about a platonic love, one that is driven by pure care for a loved one’s prosperity and nothing more. Loneliness is the most disconcerting feeling, and this song addresses its cure so refreshingly.
For anyone who’s a fan of folk, country, or post-grunge, I’d highly recommend ‘Safe from Harm’. It mixes a little bit from each, but has its own particular indie feel of warmth and fuzziness within it.
