Satchit – Sunday | escaped sand

Satchit is a UK-based indie producer with a flair for unique fusion sound, as is represented by his newest single release, Sunday!. His music is always soulful and heavily R&B influenced, with bass and percussions making most of the perforated soundscape that his smooth-flowing vocals can pierce through. Satchit frequently throws in a pinch of Carnatic influences from his Tamilian background and I found it at the very end of the track, where he imbues his lyrics with gamakas to crescendo the piece. His vocals are easy and soothing, but living on the comfort of borrowed time as is contrasted by the Night of the Living Dead sample. The song clutches to the good times in a relationship. not wanting what once was to slip through one’s fingers because of what currently is. He has to claw to keep it from fading away forever, a relationship taking its course, obstructed only by honeyed denial. This alternative R&B/indie pop artist has some very distinct sounds under his belt, and I even really enjoyed his previous single release, Freedom. Be sure to check out Sunday down below!
