Tonight is a touching melancholic ballad to absence, one that incidentally stemmed from isolation in lockdown – like our collective languishment. A very raw acoustic track spearheaded by coarsely heartfelt vocals that emulate a 3am bowl of icecream, indie singer-songwriter Sarah Johnsone captures a passionate romantic yearning like no other. She creates a gorgeously introspective soundscape that reflects the conflict within all of us, a cathartic release for our pent up solitude. An earnestly sincere piece, it is a must-listen this summer.
